Aparant is an Initiative by GHRSSIDC to bring all the crafts and craftsmen under one roof and help them in showcase crafts to People, Tourists.

Solution

Aparant needed a new identity as the previous logo is too vague when we see it as a whole. It looks like it belongs to a specific craft. But, Aparant deals in all kinds of Handicrafts, so there is a need for a simple logo that has all this traits.

Secondly, we created a new brochure and letterhead with a fresh image and a campaign to make people aware about Aparant and the value of crafts that it deals with. Making Crafts Luxury again.

We created posters inspired from artists like Mario Miranda, as they show the real lifestyle of Goa. The idea was to promote the craft and Aparant will be promoted itself. We took Coconut Craft to work with, as it is the craft that is dying as we researched about it with the help of GHRSSIDC.

we met one craftsman BOROMEU PERRIERA who left his job and work at the age of 40 and from 25 years he has been doing this craft and teaching others. After a brief discussion with him, we got to know that he is facing the same problem, due to lack of Visual Communication knowledge and people interest, he is also facing downfalls. Kids and people are now uninterested in learning the craft and also during trade shows people are not buying his products.

Boromeu Perriera needed a new logo and identity as previosly he was using a logo with was made on word with his big photo on the banner rather then the products. So it is likely that people won't be attracted to that.

We did some product shoot for him and provide him a new Logo and Business Card.

The Problem

In our Craft Cluster Initiative we have to study different crafts of the state, find the craft which is being oppressed and provide ways to bring it to the people.

The First thing that came in our mind was to reach the Local Handicraft emporium, Aparant. But at the first day we faced our biggest struggle. After being the largest handicraft center of Goa, with 15 center's in Goa itself, No body knows what is Aparant.

Even the neighbor shops and localites don't know much about it.

We also fount it hard to search the place, we drove by two times in front of the place but we couldn't figure it out that it was the Goa'n Handiraft Emporium. The building was in a secluded place with no Visual Communication on the front gate. There was just one board which was inside the campus and also was covered up by big trees. So we thought of giving a lift to Aparant first then move to a specific craft.
